HANDLOOM KHADI: A TESTAMENT TO CRAFTSMANSHIP AND TRADITION

OUR KHADI

At Rihla, we celebrate the rich heritage of handloom Khadi, a fabric that embodies time-honored craftsmanship and tradition. Before the weaving process can commence, the pre-loom phase involves the meticulous preparation of yarns. This begins with selecting the finest yarn and determining the necessary quantity. The process includes dyeing, washing, winding, warping, drumming, drafting, and denting. This intricate and labor-intensive phase can take 1-2 weeks, ensuring that the yarns are perfectly prepared for weaving.

Our artisan partners in West Bengal are the heart of our Khadi fabric production. Their expertise and dedication to the craft result in beautifully woven fabrics that embody the spirit of heritage and quality. We are proud to support these artisans and to share their remarkable work with you.

OUR CHANDERI

We celebrate the timeless elegance of Chanderi fabric, renowned for its lightweight texture and intricate patterns. The journey of creating this luxurious fabric starts with the pre-loom phase, a meticulous process where the finest yarns are carefully selected and prepared. This involves dyeing, washing, winding and warping. Taking 1-2 weeks, this labor-intensive process ensures that the yarns are perfectly primed for weaving.

The weaving of Chanderi fabric has been practiced for generations, connecting us to our rich traditional heritage. Its lustrous shine and delicate transparency make it an irresistible choice for those who appreciate refined elegance.

We take pride in partnering with skilled artisans from Madhya Pradesh, whose expertise and dedication breathe life into every piece of Chanderi fabric.
